Expert comment on mobilization in Russia

According to ТСН: Taras Chmut, a military analyst and head of the 'Come Back Alive' fund, shared his thoughts on the situation with mobilization in the Russian Federation. In his opinion, the Kremlin is actively using material and coercive methods to attract recruits.

'Russians buy and package. They buy people with money, and they go knowing that most likely they won't return. There is no other chance to get such money, pay off debts, buy housing, settle loans, buy a car, or something else. And they go because their lives are worth nothing.'

Chmut also noted that the Kremlin resorts to threats and deception for mobilizing people. He emphasized that there is a certain number of recruits that need to be mobilized each month.

'They have their 30,000 per month - sometimes less, sometimes more. With a population of 140 million, where roughly 10 million are worth nothing, one can afford such actions.'

Additionally, Chmut pointed out that Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the conscription of citizens for military service in 2026.

In light of this situation, it becomes clear that mobilization in Russia is under constant control by the authorities. The influence of material factors and threats acting on Russians indicates a complex socio-economic situation in the country. This is an important aspect for understanding current processes in Russia's military sphere and its impact on international politics.
