Electricity consumption in Ukraine is rising: which regions still face outages.
According to ТСН: Despite the restoration work following massive missile and drone attacks by Russia, electricity consumption in Ukraine is on the rise. In regions where hourly outages are implemented, the issue of electricity saving remains particularly relevant.
Calls for conservation
Ukrenergo emphasized the importance of economical use of electricity:
‘In regions where hourly outages are applied, there is still a necessity for economical energy consumption. We urge everyone to minimize the use of energy-intensive appliances and to shift energy-consuming processes to nighttime hours.’
Infrastructure recovery
Emergency recovery work is ongoing in most regions of the country. In the Odesa region, most facilities damaged due to the attacks are already connected to electricity supply. Energy workers are actively working to restore equipment to quickly return the functioning of the infrastructure.
Consumption restrictions
Due to prior strikes on the energy system, consumption restriction measures are being introduced, which include hourly outages for households and limitation schedules for industrial consumers and businesses. The outage times can be checked on the websites of energy supply companies or in the official social media accounts of operators.
Electricity consumption status
As of 9:30 AM, electricity consumption was 2.2% higher compared to the same time the previous day. This increase is attributed to cloudy weather and a lower number of restrictions imposed. The maximum consumption was recorded in the evening of December 16, matching the level of the previous day.
Situation in the energy system
Energy workers note that the situation in the energy system may change, so citizens are advised to follow the official announcements from energy supply companies.
This situation underscores the importance of a conscious approach to energy consumption amid instability. Citizens should pay attention to the recommendations of energy workers and adhere to the outage schedules to reduce the load on the energy system during difficult times.
