Russian occupiers attacked Sumy at night on August 18, using strike drones and ballistic missiles, damaging the building of Sumy State University. The building has almost completely burned down.

At night, the Russians attacked the university building with drones, after which a fire broke out that was extinguished by morning.
Other buildings were also damaged, but as a result of an evening missile strike on the city. In particular, two of them and the library had their windows blown out.
At the same time, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Ecology Roman Vaskin said that the consequences of the hits will be felt for many years. According to him, it will be difficult to restore everything.
It is known that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, students have been studying remotely due to the threat of shelling, and the classrooms were empty. And now, due to the strikes, the rooms where classes were once held are no longer suitable for education.

As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in a non-residential building due to enemy fire. There is also damage in the Sumy region. During the night, Russian occupiers attacked Sumy State University with drones and missiles, resulting in significant damage to the university building. As a result, students will no longer be able to use the premises for education, and the associate professor warns about the difficulties in restoring the building.
