Alcohol parties with schoolchildren? A scandal has erupted in Germany over a priest.
In a small Bavarian town, the bishop has forbidden the pastor to serve liturgy
In a small Bavarian town of Gautzenberg, Bishop Stefan Oster has prohibited Pastor Oleksandr Aulinger from serving liturgy and appearing in public as a priest, reports 'Glavkom' referring to Bild.
The bishop accused the pastor of allegedly holding alcohol parties with schoolchildren.
The clergy have been in this dispute for several weeks, and recently a new accusation emerged - the sexual violence commissioner, lawyer Rosemary Weber, recommended the diocese to 'conduct a criminal investigation'.
«Since there are constant suspicions that Mr. A's behavior exceeds the simple establishment of contact, other potentially criminal accusations have been raised, I strongly recommend transferring this case to the prosecutor's office», - she said.
Many parishioners are shocked by the events and support the popular local pastor. «He connects with people, he has managed to fill the church again. Both young and old feel that they are being talked to», - said one of the parish council members. Locals do not deny that the pastor may have been drinking alcohol with minors.
«We are in a village. Look at the fire brigade or shooting club. Such things happen there too», - said one of the parishioners.
Pastor Aulinger does not intend to resign. His lawyer Holm Putzke called the accusations against the priest «unfounded» and stated that the allegations «lack any factual basis».
As a reminder, in St. Petersburg, Orthodox priest Mykola Savchenko has been arrested for 14 days. He was taken to the police from the church and later brought to court. The reason for the administrative case, it is noted, was a photo published in the Russian social network 'VKontakte' in 2014. In it, Savchenko stands on Nevsky Avenue in central St. Petersburg with a small flag of Ukraine.
