The September meeting of the presidents of the USA and Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky and Joseph Biden, is scheduled to discuss Kiev's victory plan. To implement this plan, military, diplomatic, and economic pressure on Russia is needed to encourage Moscow to engage in peace negotiations considering Kiev's position, said political scientist Volodymyr Fesenko.
"There is no expectation of a miracle that the United States of America will do something and the war will end. It seems to me that Zelensky himself does not have high expectations. And he made it clear that it is about actions such as strengthening Ukraine and compelling Vladimir Putin to real peace negotiations",he said on the air of the FREEДОМ TV channel.
Ukraine needs permission to strike Russia with Western weapons, as well as increased economic pressure on Moscow. The political scientist emphasizes the importance of diplomatic pressure involving South Korea.
"Lifting restrictions on the use of Western long-range weapons for strikes on Russian territory is one of the main points. Probably, among the points of this plan is to increase economic pressure on Russia. And it's not just sanctions. Naturally, it is also about diplomatic pressure, particularly using South Korea's positions so that both China and India not just talk about peace but also push Putin towards real peace negotiations",Fesenko revealed.
The military support of Ukraine's partners is the most important aspect to compel Russia to a just peace.
"The most important thing is the maximum increase in military support for Ukraine. The stronger Putin feels military pressure from Ukraine and economic pressure from Western countries, the sooner he will go to negotiations",Fesenko summarized.
