Assets of Russian Businessman Vadim Zarubin Seized

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian law enforcement has seized the assets of Russian businessman Vadim Zarubin for financing Russia's war against Ukraine. The seizure, which occurred on February 19, targeted 13 real estate properties and corporate rights in eight companies, valued at over 50 million Ukrainian hryvnias. Investigations confirmed Zarubin's active support for Russian armed formations. This action is part of Ukraine's ongoing legal and economic measures to disrupt the financial networks supporting the invasion.

Zarubin directly aided the occupation forces by supplying them with SUVs, drones, and fuel and lubricants, demonstrating his involvement in military actions against Ukraine. Consequently, he has been charged under Part 4 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a potential penalty of up to ten years in prison with confiscation of property.

Additional Arrests Made

In related actions, three individuals were detained on February 17 for publicly advocating the bombing of Ukraine. Separately, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) arrested a resident of Lviv for correcting Russian strikes on the city and exposed a Russian agent within the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region. These cases highlight the persistent efforts to dismantle Russian intelligence and subversive networks operating within Ukraine.

The seizure of Vadim Zarubin's assets forms part of Ukraine's broader strategy to combat the financing of aggression and counter Russian influence within the country.

These operations underscore the determined work of Ukrainian security services to identify and neutralize individuals who enable Russia's military campaign. Countering war financing and espionage remains a critical priority for Ukraine as it continues to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty against the ongoing invasion.
