Tragedy in Peru
A terrible bus accident occurred in Peru, in which at least 37 people died and 24 were injured. The bus fell nearly 700 feet into a large gorge near Ocon, in the southern region of Arequipa.“We were conducting rescue operations to free the victims from the bus”Images from the scene show the bus lying on its side by the river. At the time of the accident, there were sixty passengers on the bus.
“This is one of the worst accidents I have ever seen”Rescue services are working at the scene, trying to provide assistance to the victims. This tragedy highlights serious road safety issues in Peru. Bus company owners and local authorities must take action to improve transportation conditions to prevent such horrific situations from happening again in the future.
