According to The Sun: At least one person has died and six others sustained critical injuries after a bus ran into a wandering elephant.
Officials are conducting an unconditional search for the injured animal after it fled the scene of the horrific accident.
Impressive photos show that the front of the bus was destroyed by the force of the wild elephant in Uganda.
The tragedy occurred around 1:30 near Karuma when the passenger vehicle was traveling from Gulu to Kampala.
The bus driver likely died from serious injuries when the windows shattered and the front of the vehicle was crushed.
Another six passengers were taken to hospital in critical condition, according to New Vision.
Several others suffered minor injuries and were provided medical assistance at the scene.
Officials from the Uganda Wildlife Authority confirmed that the cause of the fatal accident was a wandering elephant that ran in front of the bus.
Reports indicate it was among a herd of four African elephants.
Teams from the Uganda Wildlife Authority are now actively searching for the elephant to check its condition and provide any assistance after the harsh collision.
The bus's wreckage has already been seized and taken to the Dima police station for further investigations.
A similarly shocking accident involving a truck and an elephant occurred last November.
The driver hit and killed an elephant while turning through Karuma National Park.
African elephants can grow over 13 feet tall, with adult males weighing more than 11,000 kg.
