Russians struck Kharkiv: 13 injured, residential building destroyed.
According to ТСН: On January 2, Russian forces attacked residential buildings in Kharkiv, using two missiles. As of now, a rescue operation is ongoing, with 13 people reported injured.
Details of the Attack
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov confirmed this terrible news.
“A terrible Russian strike on Kharkiv. Initially, two missiles. Just on residential buildings. One of the buildings was significantly damaged. A rescue operation is ongoing, all necessary services are involved,” the president's statement said.
Victims and Destruction
According to Synegubov, the strike hit a five-story building that was destroyed, resulting in a fire. Additionally, windows and facades of neighboring buildings were damaged.
The head of the OVA noted that the number of injured has climbed to 13 people, six of whom have been hospitalized, including one woman in serious condition.
Rescue Operations and Reactions
Emergency services are working at the site conducting the rescue operation.
“Unfortunately, this is how the Russians treat life and people — they continue the killings, despite all the efforts of the world, primarily the United States, in the diplomatic process,” Zelensky added.
The president emphasized that only Russia does not want the war to end and continues to do everything possible to prolong the conflict. He also highlighted the importance of supporting Ukraine, strengthening air defense, and protecting people's lives.
