- the ensemble of the Bernardine Monastery.
The attack also caused major disruptions to the city’s electric tram system.
Military Expert Reactions
Yurii Ihnat, head of communications for the Ukrainian Air Force, confirmed the strike, noting that the drones were able to reach Lviv due to weather conditions and technical factors. He stressed the urgency of halting such assaults, emphasizing the need to build defensive lines using air defense systems and interceptor drones.
“This way, fewer of them will get through,” Ihnat stated.
This attack is part of a broader military campaign involving the 80th Air Assault Brigade and the Lviv Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade. Highlighting the severity of the situation, military experts call for bolstered defenses and readiness against potential future strikes.
The strike on Lviv underscores the ongoing escalation of hostilities in Ukraine and the use of advanced technologies like drones in combat operations. This incident reinforces the critical need to strengthen air defense systems to protect civilians and infrastructure from such threats. As the war continues, effective responses and enhanced defensive capabilities are vital for ensuring regional security.
