Attacks on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

According to UATV: Russian forces have launched repeated strikes across the Dnipropetrovsk region, including the city of Dnipro—a major industrial hub in central-eastern Ukraine that has been frequently targeted. The latest barrage, on July 27, 2023, involved more than 20 drone, artillery, and aerial bomb attacks. These assaults caused extensive destruction throughout the city.

The shelling shattered roughly 300 windows in a multi-story apartment building, and also damaged a furniture store and several commercial pavilions. A trolleybus power line was knocked out but has since been repaired. The most serious consequence, however, was a leak in an ammonia pipeline; one man was admitted to the city hospital with poisoning as a result.

Psychological Toll

Residents suffered immense stress during the bombardment. One eyewitness described the experience:

“When the blast went off, I just froze, and I could hear the windows shaking. I wasn’t asleep, and it felt like it was right nearby. I started to cry. What should I do, where can I go? At my age, where could I possibly go? – Grigory.”

These incidents again demonstrate how military operations devastate the lives of ordinary people, causing both physical destruction and deep psychological harm. Targeting civilian infrastructure—including homes and businesses—underscores the scale and brutality of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
