Eight Wounded in Mykolaiv Region Attack, Seven of Them Children.
Strikes Hit Mykolaiv and Sumy Regions
According to UATV: On March 28, 2023, Russian occupation forces launched an attack on the Mykolaiv region, wounding eight people in the Voskresensk community—seven of whom were children. All victims were hospitalized and are receiving necessary medical care. Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, stated:
“In the evening, as a result of a Shahed drone attack on the Voskresensk community, eight people were injured, including seven children. All have been hospitalized and are receiving necessary medical treatment.”These attacks are part of a broader pattern of violence targeting civilian areas in Ukraine.
On the same day, around noon, Russian forces shelled a residential building in the Znob-Novhorodske community of the Shostka district in the Sumy region. The attack killed a 20-year-old woman and severely wounded her 6-year-old sister. These incidents underscore the ongoing aggression by Russian troops on Ukrainian soil, which continues to inflict heavy civilian casualties.
Escalating Violence in Ukraine
These strikes highlight a worsening of violence in Ukraine, now ongoing for over a year. The rising number of civilian casualties, particularly among children, has alarmed the international community and underscores the urgent need for stronger security measures to protect non-combatants. As the conflict persists, it is critical for international organizations and nations to respond actively to human rights violations and ensure humanitarian aid reaches affected regions.
