According to UATV: On May 30, Russian forces targeted railway infrastructure in Ukraine, hitting locations in Zaporizhzhia and Shostka. Around midday in Zaporizhzhia, the attack damaged an electric locomotive and a diesel locomotive, resulting in the death of a train driver and injuries to two other workers. These strikes highlight the ongoing risks faced by railway personnel and critical transport links in the war zone.
During the night of May 30 in Shostka, located in the Sumy region, Russian troops destroyed the station building and damaged additional station infrastructure. According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the Ukrainian railway company,
“The driver was killed. Two other employees were injured. They are receiving all necessary medical care.”These incidents underscore the severe threat to Ukraine's rail network amid ongoing hostilities.
