Russian Military Command in Disarray as Communications Collapse, Reports Say.
Disruptions Cripple Russian Armed Forces
According to UATV: According to reports from the partisan movement 'Atesh,' the Russian Armed Forces are facing severe operational breakdowns. The failure of Starlink terminals has paralyzed command and control over occupation troops. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that Russia's own electronic warfare (EW) systems are also disrupting communications, including their own military radios. This reliance on commercial technology has created a critical vulnerability for Russian forces in Ukraine.
These technical failures have made battlefield management extremely difficult. On the Zaporizhzhia front, the resulting chaos led to a 'friendly fire' incident that killed an assault group of 12 soldiers. This demonstrates how the Russian military's dependence on civilian technology can directly lead to significant casualties within its own ranks.
Representatives of the 'Atesh' movement stated: 'The Russian army's reliance on civilian technology has backfired. As soon as communications are lost, command disintegrates, and troops begin to eliminate each other.'
Systemic Vulnerabilities Exposed
These events point to critical flaws in the organization and command of Russian forces on the front lines. The situation underscores the vulnerability of the Russian military in a modern combat environment where technology is pivotal. Dependence on civilian communication systems poses a serious threat to combat effectiveness, especially during active engagements and enemy countermeasures. This reliance on unsecured networks is a known tactical risk in contemporary warfare.
Consequently, these persistent command and control issues could have significant implications for the future course of the conflict in the region.
