According to UATV: In the early hours of July 11, the Russian military launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine, deploying a diverse arsenal of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. This operation threatened the security of multiple regions across the country.

The weaponry used included:

  • Six ballistic missiles—specifically the 'Iskander-M' and S-400 systems—fired from Russia's Bryansk region;
  • Four Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles, originating from Crimea;
  • Two Kh-31 anti-radiation missiles, launched from the Black Sea area;

The attack drones were launched from multiple locations, including Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Donetsk region, Hvardiiske, and Chauda in Crimea. Missile impacts were recorded at 11 sites, with debris falling at three additional locations.

Defensive Response

Aviation units, surface-to-air missile troops, and electronic warfare teams actively countered the assault. According to the Air Force, 'As of 08:30, preliminary data shows that air defense shot down or suppressed two Kh-59/69 guided missiles and 111 enemy UAVs of the 'Shahed,' 'Gerbera,' 'Italmas,' and other types across the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country.'

This attack underscores the ongoing hostilities and heightened tensions in the region. The July 11 offensive is another stark reminder of the escalating conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has been ongoing since 2014. The use of a wide variety of missiles and drones highlights the growing complexity and technological diversity of military operations on both sides. This situation poses a serious threat to civilian safety and underscores the critical need to strengthen air defenses to protect key infrastructure and the population.
