Azerbaijan Allocated $2 Million to Aid Ukraine: How Relations with Russia Have Changed.
According to FREEДOM:
The State of Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan
Recently, relations between Russia and Azerbaijan have significantly deteriorated. This was reported by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in an interview with the channel 'Al-Arabiya', as stated by FREEДОМ.
Reasons for Tension
Aliyev mentioned two key incidents that contributed to the escalation of the situation: the deaths of brothers Huseyn and Ziyaddin Safarov, detained by Russian security forces in Ekaterinburg in June, as well as an accident involving an Azerbaijan Airlines plane.
“In regards to Russia's involvement in the AZAL plane disaster, the reaction of Russian officials causes immense disappointment and dissatisfaction in Azerbaijan. Our people were disillusioned, angered, and upset. We expected that sooner or later the investigation would conclude. But then these unfounded attacks on Azerbaijanis in Russia began,” stated Ilham Aliyev.
Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine
Azerbaijan has allocated 2 million dollars for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The funds will be used, among other things, to purchase electrical equipment.
Thus, the situation in the region remains tense, and relations between the countries are under threat. All these incidents indicate that the political climate in Southeastern Europe requires careful attention. At the same time, aid to Ukraine from Azerbaijan emphasizes the importance of international support in the face of challenges faced by the country.
