Biden fell for the bluff: the US assessed the prospect of war with Russia.
Biden fell for Putin's bluff — former Trump advisor
Former advisor to Donald Trump, John Bolton, stated that Russia is incapable of waging a wider war, and Putin's statements about confrontation with the West are a bluff. US President Joe Biden fell for this bluff, Bolton said in an interview with Times Radio. He also called it a non-strategic approach that the Defense Forces are not allowed to use long-range weapons against Russia.
Bolton emphasized that Russia does not have free army units for a war against NATO, and US intelligence has confirmed that Russia has not brought its nuclear forces to a state of readiness. He also proposed informing Putin personally and publicly that if Russia uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine, Putin would sign his own death warrant.
