Biden responded to the murder of Israeli hostages by HAMAS.
U.S. President Joe Biden noted that the leaders of the terrorist group HAMAS should be held accountable after the murder of hostages who were captured in Israel. According to a White House statement, Biden and Vice President Harris met with the U.S. team negotiating the release of hostages held in HAMAS blockade. The President expressed his dismay and outrage over the murder, confirming the importance of holding the leaders accountable. The situation with the transitional proposal submitted by the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt to ensure the release of hostages was also discussed.
No specific steps towards the agreement have been taken, but Biden has already received updated information from the negotiating team on this issue. At the same time, he does not consider that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing enough to reach an agreement. Responding to media questions, Biden did not specify his comments. For his part, Netanyahu called for pressure on HAMAS, not Israel, especially after the death of the hostages.
