Trump claims he saved Ukraine from Russia: details of the address.
According to ТСН: President of the United States Donald Trump believes that his actions in NATO and relations with allies helped deter Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
In his address, he noted:
“Remember, for all those great NATO supporters, they had 2% GDP, and most weren't paying their bills until I showed up.”
Trump added that thanks to his efforts, Alliance countries increased defense spending to 5% of GDP:
“Everyone said it was impossible to do, but it is possible because above all, they are all my friends.”
He also emphasized that without his involvement
“Russia would now have all of Ukraine.”Trump claims he personally
“ended 8 wars”and saved millions of lives.
The U.S. president stressed that Russia and China do not fear NATO without the U.S.:
“I doubt NATO would be with us if they really needed us.”
Trump added that the U.S. will always support NATO:
“The only nation that China and Russia fear and respect is DJT (Donald Trump – ed.) restored the U.S.”
Recall that after the military operation in Venezuela, Trump stated that he “really needs Greenland”, since this island is strategically important for the defense of the U.S., surrounded by Russian and Chinese ships. He emphasized that Greenland is important for the country's security.
However, Denmark, which owns the island, sharply condemned Trump's new statements. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated that the U.S. has no right to annex any of the three countries of the Danish Kingdom. She also noted that any attempt to seize Greenland by military means would be a disaster for NATO.
Now the issue of Greenland and its strategic importance for the U.S. has again come to the fore, raising concerns in the international community. Trump's statements confirm the U.S. desire to strengthen its influence in the region, which could lead to new tensions in relations between states.
