HUR fighters destroyed an expensive Russian 'Osa' SAM with a drone for a few hundred dollars.
The special units "Wings" of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine found and destroyed the Russian 'Osa' surface-to-air missile system. The military reported this on their Telegram page and posted a video.
«The cost of the enemy's automated SAM is 10 million dollars. The cost of the FPV drone, which the scouts used to burn the 'Osa', is a few hundred dollars. The lessons of interesting mathematics will continue!», noted the management, posting a video of the successful strike on enemy equipment.
The 'Osa' surface-to-air missile system is a mobile short-range air defense system, which was developed back in the Soviet Union and is actively used by the Russian armed forces. Its purpose is to destroy aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and other airborne targets at low altitudes.
The 'Osa' is a unique system because it combines all components of air defense on one mobile platform, allowing it to operate autonomously and move quickly on the battlefield. Currently, the system is used by Russia in Ukraine, but due to its outdated technology and modern countermeasures, its effectiveness is decreasing.
The commander of the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, reported that Ukrainian military personnel will receive multifunctional unmanned marine vehicles.
Ukrainian "dragon-drones" greatly trouble the occupiers. They sprinkle Russian positions with a special dust that burns at high temperatures.
Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed the destruction of a Russian Su-34 aircraft and an ammunition depot at the Morozovsk airfield in Russia.
