ISW: Ukrainian troops hold Rodynske, battles underway for Myrnograd

According to ТСН: Ukrainian troops continue to maintain control in Rodynske, while Russian units are active in less than half of Myrnograd territory.

This conclusion was made by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) based on open sources.

Situation on the front

Geolocated video materials published on December 28 confirm the presence of Ukrainian forces in the northern part of Rodynske, indicating their ability to carry out operations within the locality.

Materials from December 27 indicate recent advances by Russian troops in the northern part of Myrnograd. Other videos from the same day demonstrate the installation of Russian flags in several points in the north of the city and in the center of Rodynske. However, according to ISW's assessment, these actions have not led to changes in control over the territory or the frontline of the combat zone.

According to ISW, Russian forces occupy no more than 49% of Myrnograd territory after infiltration or assault actions. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on December 27 refuted Russian claims about the supposed capture of the city, emphasizing that control over Pokrovsk has still not been established despite nearly 150 days of fighting.

Ukraine's power position

Also, on December 28, the 7th rapid response corps of the Air Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that Ukrainian units are holding positions in the northern part of Pokrovsk.

In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Center for Countering Disinformation refuted the Kremlin's statements about the capture of Hulyaipole, Myrnograd, and Stepnohirsk, stating that the Defense Forces continue to control these localities. In Kostyantynivka, Ukrainian defenders destroyed a Russian assault column, refuting information about enemy control over part of the city. The military emphasizes that misinformation regarding 'victories' near Pokrovsk and Kup'yansk is aimed at exerting pressure during peace negotiations.

Thus, the situation on the front remains tense; however, the Ukrainian military demonstrates good results in defending their positions. Importantly, control over territories and the refutation of misinformation remain on the agenda, which may influence the further development of the conflict.
