Russian citizens, even those who publicly declare their opposition, continue to work for the Kremlin and against Ukraine. An example is the famous Russian blogger Yuri Dud, who, fleeing from Putin's dictatorship, suddenly became concerned about Ukrainian military conscription and democracy in Ukraine.
In a new video interview with former US ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul, Russian blogger Yuri Dud attempted to compare Russian aggression against Ukraine to the events in Iraq in 2003 and promoted anti-Ukrainian narratives.
Despite his opposition stance, Dud spoke on behalf of Ukrainian conscripts and discussed the topic of democracy in Ukraine, trying to influence Western aid to the country.
Why did the 'oppositional' Russian suddenly decide to talk about democracy in Ukraine
Dud's question about democracy in Ukraine was refuted by McFaul, who emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine as a democratic country to stop Russian aggression.
In light of this interview, it becomes clear that Yuri Dud is using his platform to promote Russian narratives, trying to influence public opinion and Western countries.
