Fraudsters stole 6.2 million hryvnias from Ksyusha Maneken
According to inkorr.com: Famous blogger Ksyusha Maneken fell victim to fraud – 6.2 million hryvnias disappeared from her FOP account at monobank. Bank co-founder Oleg Gorokhovsky confirmed this information on social media.
A bank representative stated that Ksyusha Maneken accidentally provided criminals access to her account by following a link in Telegram to a fake bank account and deleting the Mono application at their recommendation.
Oleg Gorokhovsky noted that their system did not detect suspicious transactions, as such actions may appear normal for entrepreneurs. Due to the deletion of the application, Ksyusha did not receive notifications about transactions.
The bank representative also mentioned that after similar cases, they always strive to enhance client protection, but it is important to maintain a balance between security and user convenience.
Basics of Financial Security
Oleg Gorokhovsky reminded about important rules of financial security: do not share passwords and card numbers, avoid logging into accounts from other devices, contact support only through the application, and set up a dynamic CVV code for online payments.
Actions of monobank
monobank is actively working to return funds to clients and cooperating with law enforcement in investigating the fraud case. According to Oleg Gorokhovsky, the bank has managed to save tens of millions of hryvnias of clients, even in cases of careless handling of their information.
The story of Ksyusha Maneken is yet another reminder of the importance of adhering to personal financial security online. Although banks and financial institutions constantly improve their protection systems, each user must also follow basic safety rules and avoid sharing their data with unknown individuals.
