Battles for the Pokrovsk Agglomeration: Expert Named Main Directions of Russian Strikes.

On the Pokrovsk front, besides the city of Pokrovsk, there are also Selidove and Myrnograd, forming the Pokrovsk agglomeration.

Pokrovsk is a large industrial center, and its industrial zone allows Ukrainian troops to actively defend. However, the Russian army is attempting to attack from the flanks. The main strikes are directed at Selidove and Myrnograd, said military-political analyst Dmytro Sniehirov.

The main efforts of the occupant at the moment are attempts at a flanking encirclement of Selidove itself. Unfortunately, there are tactical successes for the occupants in this direction. This is an advance in the area of the settlement of Vyshneve, which is essentially the suburb of Selidove. In addition, it is reported that fights are already taking place directly in the urban development, but the occupiers have not yet reached the line of high-rise buildings. Besides this, there is noted advancement of occupiers from the railway line in the direction from Tsukuryno. A similar situation – the movement of occupiers from the settlement of Novohrodivka, — he comments.

According to Sniehirov, the Russians are trying to subordinate Ukrainian logistics at this part of the front.

The primary goal of the occupants in this direction is to take direct control of the main locations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. We are talking about the routes "Selidove - Pokrovsk" and "Pokrovsk - Karlivka - Donetsk" - the key locations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces through which personnel rotation, evacuation of the wounded, and delivery of ammunition are carried out. In the conditions of autumn weather, the issue of control over these places is the key question of further hostilities in this area, — explained the guest of the broadcast.

He also noted the increased pressure from Russian occupation forces in the area of Kurakhove.

Currently, there are reports of the heaviest battles in the area of Maksymilianivka. The distance to Kurakhove is about 3.5 km. That is, again using the tactic of flanking encirclement of the Ukrainian Defense Forces on this part of the front, — says the analyst.

Furthermore, Sniehirov notes a change in the tactics and strategies of the Russian offensive on the Kurakhove direction.

Previously, the attacks were exclusively by infantry units without armored support, but at present, there are recorded attacks by the occupants with the support of more than 30 armored units. According to reports from the field, Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy about 12 heavy armored units, and another 10 units received significant damage. Currently, the movement of the occupants on the Pokrovsk direction continues, but on the Kurakhove direction, it is temporarily halted, — he recorded.

In his assessment, this is related to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region.

Successful actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the Pokrovsk direction depend on the situation in the Kursk region. Thanks to the Kursk operation, the most combat-ready units of the Russian army were transferred from the Pokrovsk direction to the Kursk region. It is about the 810th Marine Brigade. A similar situation – from the Kurakhove direction, airborne division units of the Russian occupation forces were transferred, — said Dmytro Sniehirov.
