Ignoring the received summons by mail or failing to comply with the requirements to arrive for dispatch to the place of service is subject to criminal liability under Art. 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (imprisonment for a term of three to five years).
According to the law, refusing to receive the summons for data clarification or to undergo a military medical commission is subject to liability under Art. 210 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses regarding violations of accounting rules (a fine ranging from 17,000 to 25,000 UAH).
Recent changes in legislation allow territorial centers for staffing and military units to send 'combat' summons to conscripts by mail. Now, citizens who are obliged to serve in the military and have undergone a military medical commission can also receive notification of the summons delivery in their mailbox. Since ignoring such summons has serious consequences, citizens should pay close attention to the letters received from the TCC and military units.
