Borrell: EU Members Must Fight Against Circumventing Sanctions on Russia.
The High Representative of the EU called to avoid circumventing sanctions against Russia
The European Union notes that some member countries continue to export goods to countries bordering Russia, thereby helping to circumvent the sanctions. This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell during a press conference in Brussels, where a meeting of foreign ministers took place.
Borrell emphasized that EU member states must approve stricter measures against sanction circumvention. He also noted that the increase in exports from Europe to countries bordering Russia is a "wonderful Time." However, this raises suspicions about circumventing sanctions against Russia, so it is necessary to check European companies.
Borrell called on the EU not only to impose sanctions on companies in third countries but also to look at themselves. He stressed that the fight against sanction evasion should start from within the EU itself.
