Ukrainians commemorate the memory of Hryhorii Shkvyrienko, who died in the Russo-Ukrainian war
On April 25, 2025, Hryhorii Shkvyrienko died while performing a combat mission in Shevchenkove, in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. He was a volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and actively participated in battles against the Russian occupiers. Hryhorii was awarded the 'War Veteran' badge for his dedication and patriotism.
Hryhorii Shkvyrienko was born on April 7, 2000. In February 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became a military shooter. Later, he was transferred to the position of combat medic for the drone unit of the Special Purpose Forces of the Western Tactical Operational Group of the National Guard of Ukraine.
Hryhorii always diligently performed his duties and helped his brothers in arms. He was described as modern, kind, and devoted. He chose the path of a defender and fought for our native land against Russian occupiers until his last breath.
Hryhorii Shkvyrienko was buried with military honors in the village of Mala Mochulka, under the volleys of the last gun salute. The State Flag of Ukraine was handed to his parents as a symbol of courage and dedication to Ukraine.

Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians remember all those who died in the Russo-Ukrainian war. We honor the memory of Hryhorii Shkvyrienko and all other heroes who gave their lives for our freedom and independence. Together we stand in mourning and remember their great contribution to our country.
