Tragic accident in Ibiza
According to The Sun: A horrific accident occurred in Ibiza: a British woman died when a driver under the influence of drugs drove onto the sidewalk, injuring two others.
The incident happened around 11:50 AM near Es Pueto beach, not far from the popular resort of San Antonio.

SolarpixThe injured were taken to the private clinic Nuestra Senora del Rosario. Unfortunately, one woman died in the hospital while another sustained serious injuries; the third, aged 23, was discharged the day before.
A representative of the hospital reported:
“Regarding the accident yesterday near San Antonio, two women were taken to the Nuestra Senora del Rosario clinic. Both were British.”“One of them, aged 23, died yesterday due to the severity of her injuries.
“The other, also 23, is currently in intensive care.“She has numerous injuries, a closed chest injury, a closed abdominal injury with damage to her spleen and kidney, as well as a serious pelvic injury.
“She is in critical condition.”
Police confirmed that the driver of the Jeep Wrangler who struck the women is an Irish citizen and is suspected of consuming dangerous nitrous oxide before the accident.
“The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, is approximately 30 years old and is likely to appear in court today.”“It is unknown whether he lives on the island or was vacationing in Ibiza.'
Witnesses recount the catastrophe
Yussef, a restaurant worker who witnessed the incident, told the newspaper Periodico de Ibiza:
“At first, we heard a loud noise, and then we saw one of the girls 'flying in the air'.”He added:
“Two of them were in a dreadful state, one was bleeding profusely, and the other was in shock.”Honoring the memory of the deceased, he and his colleagues laid flowers at the site of the tragedy.
A representative of the San Jose city council confirmed the driver's arrest:
“Today, the local police of San Jose arrested the Irish driver after he ran over three people in the Es Pueto area, resulting in one fatality and two serious injuries.”
He added:
“The arrested individual has been charged with dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drugs, vehicular manslaughter, and serious bodily harm due to gross negligence, following a preliminary investigation that revealed evidence of nitrous oxide use just minutes before the accident.”
“In the coming hours, data will be obtained from the vehicle's black box, which will provide quantitative information about the driving during the incident.”“It is worth noting that the cooperation of citizens and the large number of people and vehicles in the area facilitated the search for witnesses and video footage to aid in the investigation.”
“The local police of San Jose is continuing to work in coordination with the civil guard and emergency services.”
“The San Jose city council also expresses gratitude to the local police of San Antonio for their prompt and professional cooperation during the incident.”
This tragedy, along with numerous testimonies from the scene, highlights the seriousness of the road safety situation in resorts. The issue of drug use while driving again endangers the lives of people merely enjoying their holiday. The investigation is ongoing, and the punishment for the perpetrator of this tragedy is still to come.
