According to The Sun: The United Kingdom has joined 26 countries that have promised to send 'security troops' to Ukraine as soon as a peace agreement is reached. This information emerged yesterday.

These plans were developed by Western allies during the 'Coalition of the Willing' summit in Paris to counter Russian aggression.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who joined the summit via video conference, stated that 'Vladimir Putin's lust for war' has become evident due to recent attacks on the UK Parliament buildings and the EU delegation in Kyiv.

French President Emmanuel Macron, present at the summit along with Zelensky, also reported that the US intends to support the peacekeeping forces.

However, Sir Keir warned that 'Putin cannot be trusted' as the Russian leader continues to ignore calls for a ceasefire.

About 30 leaders of the Western coalition gathered in Paris or joined the debate via video conference.

The United States plans to conclude a separate agreement, although President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff was also present at the meeting.

A No 10 representative noted: 'The Prime Minister emphasized that the group has an unyielding commitment to Ukraine with President Trump's support. And it was clear that they needed to act further to exert pressure on Putin for a ceasefire.'

Leaders from Europe, Australia, Japan, and Canada gathered at the summit in Paris, but hopes for peace were once again shattered by Russia.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Putin would not accept Zelensky's signature on any peace agreement, considering him an illegal president.

Lavrov added: 'If Putin does not want a ceasefire – and if Trump does not call for it – what are the chances of achieving it?'
