According to UATV: Ukrainian defense forces have launched strikes against the 'St. Petersburg' oil terminal in Russia’s Leningrad region, as well as the naval base at 'Kronstadt.' These operations resulted in massive fires and successful hits on enemy targets. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the actions included
“new Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian facilities”and
“the destruction of port oil infrastructure near St. Petersburg.”This marks a significant escalation in Ukraine’s ability to project power deep inside Russian territory.
Details of the Strikes
The assault on the 'St. Petersburg' oil terminal ignited a powerful blaze. The facility boasts an annual throughput capacity of 12.5 million tons and can store up to 441,000 cubic meters of crude oil and petroleum products. Meanwhile, the Kronstadt naval base also experienced a severe fire, underscoring the effectiveness of Ukrainian operations.
Additionally, an enemy helicopter was destroyed over the Sea of Azov, highlighting ongoing active combat in the region. Repeated strikes were carried out on a railway bridge crossing the Siverskyi Donets River in Luhansk Oblast, and two enemy command posts in Donetsk Oblast were also hit. These actions demonstrate Ukraine’s continued efforts to target critical military and infrastructure assets of the aggressor.
