Britain has announced an unprecedented sanctions package against the Russian Federation ahead of the anniversary of the invasion.
The United Kingdom is set to announce the largest sanctions package against Russia since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. This was reported by the Independent ahead of the third anniversary of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
It is expected that the new package of restrictive measures will be presented by UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy on February 24.
'This is a critical moment for Ukraine, the UK, and all of Europe. We are commemorating not only three years of struggle but also three years during which Britain has stood shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine,' emphasized the British official.
According to Lammy, it is time to increase pressure on Putin's Russia: 'Tomorrow I plan to announce the largest sanctions package against Russia since the first days of the war — undermining their military machine and reducing the revenues that fuel the fire of destruction in Ukraine.'
Also, let us remind you that there has been a response to Trump regarding whether sanctions against Russia could be lifted, and the EU is planning to confiscate frozen Russian assets to compensate Ukraine for damages.
