Britain announces thousands of drones for Ukraine and intensifies pressure on Russia.
According to ТСН: The United Kingdom has expressed strong condemnation of Russia, emphasizing that strikes on Ukraine are cynical and aimed at civilians.
UK Defense Minister John Healey stressed: 'Putin's attacks are brutal and cynical. Drones targeting Kyiv hit residential areas. He continues to attack civilians and energy infrastructure.'
UK's Determination
Healey also noted, that Russia's actions only strengthen London's determination to support Ukraine. He added: 'For us in Britain, this doubles our resolve to stand with you. I pay tribute to the incredible resilience and courage of Ukrainians—both military and civilian.'
It was also emphasized that US President Donald Trump seeks to pressure Russia into negotiations, but for this real pressure from Ukraine's allies is needed. 'President Trump is doing what only he can do—putting enough pressure on Putin to take negotiations seriously,' Healey remarked.
Power of Support
According to the minister, Western countries must not only talk about peace but also enhance economic and military pressure on Russia. 'This will require Britain and the US to increase military aid to Ukraine, intensify economic pressure, and seize Putin's shadow fleet,' he added.
Attention was also drawn to the large-scale production of new drone interceptors developed by Ukrainian engineers. 'We will use British technology for the mass production of these drones and supply them to Ukraine by the thousands each month to protect your citizens from attacks,' Healey reported.
Russian Aggression
Healey also noted that Kremlin aggression extends far beyond Ukraine, saying: 'Putin is ramping up attacks not only against Ukraine but also against all of Europe. That is why a secure Ukraine means a more secure Europe.'
He emphasized that Britain will stand by Ukraine for as long as needed—in the fight for freedom and ensuring peace.
Situation at the Time of Strikes
In Kyiv, as a result of enemy attacks, four people were killed, and 25 were injured. Among the victims are three residents of a residential complex in the Dnipro district, as well as a 56-year-old emergency medical worker who was trying to rescue the injured in the Darnytskyi district.
On the night of January 9, Russia attacked the Lviv community, striking a critical infrastructure facility in the village of Rudno.
In this village, the shock wave damaged the automatic gas safety system. To ensure gas supply safety, supply for 376 subscribers was temporarily halted.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the use of the Oreshnik missile for the attack on Ukraine and stated that this is a 'retaliatory strike' for the alleged attack on Putin's residence.
The situation in Ukraine remains tense as Russian strikes continue to pose a threat to civilians and infrastructure. The international community, particularly Britain and the USA, is actively seeking ways to support Ukraine and pressure Russia, which could be a decisive factor in the further development of events.
