Key British ally of Donald Trump, Nigel Farage, stated that Ukraine's accession to NATO is 'probably necessary'. This was reported by Politico, citing a press conference in London and an evening broadcast on GB News.

This statement came on the same day that U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset excluded Ukraine's NATO membership and emphasized that Europe 'should provide the bulk of future lethal and non-lethal aid to Ukraine'. Hegset also noted that American troops would not participate in peacekeeping operations.
