Major personnel reshuffles: who will lead the SBU, Ministry of Defense, and energy sector

According to ТСН: In Ukraine, significant personnel changes have occurred, initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Alongside this, an important conversation took place with former Azov commander Bohdan Krotevych 'Tavr', co-founder of the DeepState project Roman Pohorilyi, and commander of the 'Wolves Da Vinci' battalion Serhii Filimonov. Key issues were discussed, such as the appointment of Kyrylo Budanov as head of the President's Office, the possible appointment of Mykhailo Fedorov as Minister of Defense, and the potential transfer of Denys Shmyhal to the Ministry of Energy. There was also talk of the resignation of Vasyl Maliuk, possible candidates for the position of head of the SBU, and the situation with Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Negotiation direction: Budanov as the 'anti-Yermak' for the West

The resignation of Andrii Yermak has triggered serious changes in the power structure, notably the movement of Kyrylo Budanov from the position of head of military intelligence to the position of head of the President's Office. This effectively turns the Office into a center of military-political management. Budanov, a professional with combat experience, can serve as a bridge between military personnel and diplomats, which is crucial for negotiations. At this critical moment of the war, Zelensky emphasized readiness for peace agreements, and Budanov will be responsible for security and the development of international efforts.

“I am certainly disappointed that the Office is again reclaiming powers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs…”

Bohdan Krotevych noted that Budanov needs to focus on international negotiations, stressing that if Russia refuses to implement the peace plan, it is important to pay attention to internal issues.

Roman Pohorilyi added that Budanov can change approaches in communication with partners. He emphasized the need to involve military personnel in the negotiation process, as this could significantly strengthen Ukraine's position in the international arena.

Fedorov may become Minister of Defense

An important personnel decision was the nomination of Mykhailo Fedorov for the position of Minister of Defense instead of Denys Shmyhal. This indicates a clear strategic shift towards technological warfare. Fedorov, a representative of the younger generation of managers, has substantial experience in digital technologies that can significantly enhance the country's defense capabilities.

“But there is another side that I feel is necessary to note. That is, technology is not a method of waging war, but a tool.”

Experts note that Fedorov's effectiveness in the digital transformation of the defense sector may positively influence his new role.

Security Service of Ukraine without Maliuk

The situation concerning the resignation of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Maliuk, raises particular concerns. Under his leadership, the SBU integrated into military processes and gained a positive image. Thanks to his efforts, the service has become an important instrument of defense.

“I want to express my respect and gratitude to him. He is a great professional and a true patriot.”

Krotevych indicated that the newly appointed acting head of the SBU has a good reputation. However, Maliuk remains an important figure in the security sector.

Who will head the SBU?

Among possible candidates for the position of head of the SBU, Major General Yevhen Khmara and Oleksandr Poklad are frequently mentioned. They have significant experience in counterintelligence processes. Serhii Filimonov emphasized that it is important to maintain the unity of the service and support its professionalism in critical conditions.

Shmyhal may become the new Minister of Energy

Currently, after the corruption scandals in the energy sector, the issue of trust in management in this field has become critical. There is hope that the new Minister of Energy will be a systemic manager capable of overcoming complex crises. Roman Pohorilyi remarked that Shmyhal's appointment is a signal of the state's readiness to solve problems in this area.

Syrskyi will not be dismissed

Despite personnel changes, Volodymyr Zelensky reminded that Oleksandr Syrskyi remains in the position of Commander-in-Chief. This is related to the necessity of stability in the negotiation process.

“I believe the decision on a replacement has long been made.”

Experts emphasize that under current conditions, it is important to maintain stability in the leadership of the Armed Forces.

Thus, the situation requires urgent reforms in the Armed Forces, as numerous problems have accumulated that need prompt resolution. Roman Pohorilyi stressed that the country needs deep reforms that take into account management systems and human resources, as ignoring these aspects could lead to further chaos on the front.
