Budanov reacted to statements about the withdrawal of North Korean troops from the Kursk region.
The head of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, reassured the public regarding reports of the complete withdrawal of North Korean military personnel from the front line in the Kursk region. He stated that about eight thousand North Korean soldiers are still participating in combat operations, although their activity has decreased.
According to Budanov, it is necessary to observe and analyze the situation to determine whether the decrease in activity is a temporary phenomenon or a significant change. He also dismissed reports of the complete disappearance of North Korean troops as untrue. Military analysts believe that the reduction in personnel could be a tactical maneuver or a result of losses.
Earlier, Newsweek learned about how North Korean soldiers are trying to avoid participating in the war in Ukraine.
