Abducted Ukrainian Children Forced to Fight for Russia Upon Turning 18, Says Budanov.
Statement by Kyrylo Budanov on Child Abductions
According to Novyny.live: Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has reported that children are being illegally taken from Ukraine to Russia. According to him, once these children reach military age, they are sent to serve in the Russian army and are compelled to participate in combat operations. Budanov stressed the gravity of the situation, noting that many of the abducted children sign contracts and fight on the side of the occupying forces.
'Are they being used in combat operations? Unfortunately, yes, they are. That is, upon reaching conscription age, all of them go into the army, and a large percentage of them, let's say, sign contracts and fight for the occupying army,' Kyrylo Budanov stated.
This information highlights alarming trends concerning the safety of children who have fallen victim to aggression and are losing their childhood amid the war. The issue underscores a broader humanitarian crisis affecting the youngest and most vulnerable.
International Concern Grows
The involvement of abducted Ukrainian children in hostilities against Ukraine has raised alarm not only within the country but also on the international stage. This situation demands urgent attention and decisive action from global organizations to protect the rights and lives of these children.
This problem not only violates children's rights but also carries severe consequences for their future and society as a whole. The removal of children and their forced participation in military actions can lead to lasting psychological trauma and long-term social repercussions for the victims. The international community must take steps to prevent these crimes and ensure the safety of children in conflict zones.
