One of the most prestigious literary competitions in the world, the Booker Prize, has announced the shortlist of finalists for 2025. Traditionally, it includes six books that, according to the jury, explore themes of survival, oppression, catastrophe, and the strength of the human spirit.

The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 20, in London.

Shortlist for the Booker Prize 2025:

  • On the Calculation of Volume I - Solveig Balle (translated by: Barbara Jay Haveland)
  • Small Boat - Vincent Delacroix (translated by: Helen Stevenson)
  • Under the Eye of the Big Bird - Hiromi Kawakami (translated by: Asa Yoneda)
  • Perfection - Vincenzo Latronico (translated by: Sophie Hughes)
  • Heart Lamp - Banu Mushtak (translated by: Deepa Bhaskhi)
  • A Leopard-Skin Hat - Ann Serre (translated by: Mark Hutchinson)

Earlier, it was reported that the 46-year-old Irish writer Paul Lynch won the Booker Prize for Literature in 2023.
