Every day at 9 a.m. Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Yuriy Bulyha.

On September 5, 2022, during a combat mission in the village of Borshcheva in the Kharkiv region, the life of Yuriy Oleksandrovych Bulyha was cut short. The irreparable loss was reported by the company “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih,” where the man worked as a driver before the full-scale war, and the Novhorodka village territorial community.

Yuriy Bulyha was born on April 14, 1977, and lived in Novhorodka, studied at secondary school № 1, vocational school № 36 and worked at local enterprises.

Recently, Yuriy Bulyha lived with his wife and son in Kryvyi Rih, where he worked in the company “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” as a vehicle driver in a quarry.

Yuriy Bulyha was called to service on May 27, 2022. He was the platoon leader of the rifle platoon of the rifle company, defending the independence of our country in the Kharkiv direction. The defender of Ukraine received the call sign “Belaz” from his comrades because he worked on such a machine before being drafted.

Colleagues at “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” remember Yuriy Bulyha as an irreparable optimist, responsible and experienced driver.

Yuriy loved his job, knew his machine inside out, could always give not only good advice but also rushed to help immediately. We were work colleagues and garage neighbors, and you couldn't find a more family-oriented person. He could have avoided going to the front, but he perceived our country as his own family. Therefore, he simply couldn’t avoid defending it. Until the end, even from the front lines, he called and assured us that everything was fine with him. Unfortunately, we lost him. This war takes the best, but we will always remember our heroes.

“Glavkom” joins the minute of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died fighting for the Motherland. We remember those killed by Russian invaders, light candles of memory, and bow our heads in sorrow during the national minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who died fighting the Russian occupiers and as a result of attacks by enemy troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
