Some Ukrainian Children Lost 800+ Benefits in Poland: What Is the Reason.

Deputy Minister of Education of Poland Joanna Mucha shared new information regarding Ukrainian students in the Polish education system and changes in the provision of 800+ aid.
According to the Education Information System (SIO) as of October 1, 2024, the total number of Ukrainian students in the Polish education system is 248,000.
Of these, 179.7 thousand are children who arrived after February 24, 2022, and 68.3 thousand were in Poland before the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
From September 1, 2024, 19.3 thousand children from Ukraine joined the Polish education system, which is less than expected, but this is due to the introduction of compulsory education for Ukrainian children in Poland.
Under the new rules, from September 1, 2024, Ukrainian children residing in Poland are required to study in the Polish education system, including one-year preparatory studies, compulsory education in primary school, and compulsory studies in secondary schools.
It is important to note that from June 1, 2025, Ukrainian families will be able to receive family support 800+ and "Good Start" 300+ aid if their children attend a Polish school.
Since the beginning of the year, about 36,000 Ukrainian children stopped receiving 800+ aid, as some of them left Poland or were not in the country at all. However, during the same period, 10.5 thousand new children with PESEL UKR arrived in Poland.
