China expands its naval fleet
According to The Sun: China has enhanced its maritime capabilities by officially commissioning its largest and most advanced aircraft carrier. Fujian, measuring 1,000 feet in length and weighing 80,000 tons, was unveiled at a ceremony attended by Xi Jinping.
On Wednesday, the aircraft carrier was put into active service with the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) on Hainan Island.
“This is an important event for strengthening our military maritime capability,” noted Xi Jinping.
High-ranking officials and military commanders attended the ceremony, celebrating a significant milestone in the development of China's naval power. Thus, Beijing continues to expand its sea capabilities, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and powerful ships into its fleet.
