Expert explains when Russia will stop the war: named the only condition.
According to ТСН: Russia will cease its aggression against Ukraine only when the Kremlin has no economic resources left to continue its offensive. President Putin's rhetoric indicates a lack of readiness for compromise.
This opinion was expressed by British political analyst Scott Lucas in his commentary.
He emphasized that Putin continues to declare his intentions to restore 'historical Russian territories' and doubts the legitimacy of Ukrainian authorities.
“Putin aims to break and divide Ukraine, to make Ukrainians in some parts of the country Russians,” Scott Lucas emphasized.
According to the analyst, Vladimir Putin has no intention of making compromises, so a lull in the war in Ukraine will not happen anytime soon.
“The only way to force him to abandon this is when he [Russian President Vladimir Putin] no longer has the resources to continue the invasion. In particular, economic ones. Then he will stop,” the British expert believes.
Let us remind you that, summarizing the results of 2025, the Kremlin leader actively discussed the situation in Ukraine, where the Russian occupying army has been conducting an aggressive war for four years now.
The situation in Ukraine remains tense. Despite attempts by the international community to find a solution, progress in peace negotiations is still not noticeable. It is clear that all those involved in the conflict will have to weigh the consequences of their actions and resources to achieve a sustainable peace in the region.
