Military registration in Ukraine

In Ukraine, all men aged 16/17 to 60 are subject to military registration. However, a portion of women is also included in military registration.

The military registration norms particularly apply to those Ukrainian female citizens who have medical education.

A citizen reached out to a lawyer, inquiring whether her daughter, who is finishing medical university, must register for military service. Lawyer Yuriy Aivazyan, commenting on this situation, noted that, according to domestic legislation, this is mandatory.

Arrival of medical university graduates to TCC

The lawyer also explained how much time the law gives women who have obtained medical education to register for military service.

'Women who have obtained education in medical or pharmaceutical specialties are required to arrive at the district (city) TCC at their declared/registered place of residence within 60 days after obtaining the relevant education to determine their suitability for military service,' Aivazyan emphasized.

Thus, medical university graduates must be registered for military service, although there is currently no talk of compulsory mobilization for this category of citizens of Ukraine.
