Free Rides Continue on Kharkiv Metro: July 2026 Schedule Released.
Kharkiv Metro System
According to Novyny.live: As of July 2026, passengers can still enter the Kharkiv metro free of charge, keeping the city's subway accessible for both residents and visitors. The decision to maintain free fares reflects ongoing efforts to support mobility amid economic challenges.
The Kharkiv metro operates daily from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM, serving three lines:
- Blue
- Red
- Green
The network includes 30 stations spread across the city. On weekdays, trains run every 10 minutes, with intervals increasing to 15–25 minutes after 8:00 PM. On weekends, the gap between trains is 20 minutes.
Key transfer points within the system are Maidan Konstitutsii and Universytet stations. These hubs make it easier for passengers to switch lines, reinforcing the metro's role as a vital part of Kharkiv's transport infrastructure. Thousands rely on it daily.
The ongoing free fare policy highlights local government efforts to keep public transport affordable for everyone, especially during potential economic strain. By ensuring reliable service, the metro reduces pressure on other transit modes and helps improve overall quality of life for Kharkiv's residents.
