No Need to Visit Old Recruitment Office When Moving – Deferments Stay Valid Under New Rules.
Updated Military Registration Rules for Ukrainians Changing Their Place of Residence
According to Novyny.live: Men aged 17 and older are required to maintain military registration under current law. When relocating, they must also update their registration location. However, a visit to the previous Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC) is no longer required. Instead, before completing the address change at a local Administrative Services Center (CNAP), individuals must first go to the new TCC in their area. This adjustment is part of a broader effort to streamline administrative processes for those moving within the country.
According to Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1487, the procedure for changing one's place of military registration has been simplified. This change aims to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and make it easier for citizens to comply with registration requirements while relocating for work, study, or other reasons.
'You do not need to physically visit your current TCC, deregister there, or carry your personal file to the new location.' Vladyslav Deriy, military official representative
Deriy also emphasized that 'your deferment will not disappear. It is tied not to your paper file at a specific TCC but to your electronic profile in the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Military Servicemen, and Reservists 'Oberih'.' This means deferments granted for educational purposes remain intact during the transition, as they are digitally linked to the national database rather than a physical office.
The new rules represent a significant shift in how military registration works for people who change their address. By digitizing records and eliminating unnecessary visits, the system aims to boost mobility for young adults, potentially enhancing their ability to study and work across different regions. This electronic approach also makes maintaining deferments more convenient, reducing paperwork and administrative delays for conscripts and reservists alike.
