The Ukrainian airspace cannot be open due to the security situation
During the International Transport Forum, Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that currently, the Ukrainian airspace cannot be opened even partially. This is related to the assessment of risks and air defense means, as well as security and military situation. The main priority is to develop alternative routes for the delivery of goods and passengers.
Attention is paid to the land border and other modes of transportation
The Prime Minister emphasized that the main focus is on the development of the land border, road, and rail transport. He also noted that the aviation infrastructure was damaged as a result of Russian attacks and 15 civilian airports were damaged.
Experts consider the possibility of opening an airport in Lviv
The possibility of opening an airport in Lviv has been considered, but no final decision has been made yet. The airline AirBaltic plans to quickly resume flights from Kyiv, Odesa, and Lviv, taking into account the security of flights as the main requirement.
