According to UATV: On July 19, 2023, Russia launched a massive missile barrage on Kyiv, firing more than 40 rockets. The assault left one person dead and 13 others injured. Fires broke out across five districts of the capital, highlighting the severe impact of the bombardment.
Fires Erupt Across Multiple Districts
In the Solomianskyi district, crews are still battling a blaze at an office building. The Shevchenkivskyi district saw fires in a three-story residential building and several vehicles, which have since been extinguished. Rescuers in the Sviatoshynskyi district managed to put out a roof fire at a private home, saving four residents. A non-residential building fire in the Desnianskyi district has been contained, while the Dniprovskyi district reported fires involving cars, an unoccupied structure, and a dormitory.
Additionally, on the evening of July 18, 2023, Russia struck residential areas in the Odesa region with missiles. That attack killed two people and wounded five, including a child. The tragedy in Odesa, combined with the strikes on Kyiv, underscores the ongoing escalation of the conflict and the persistent threat to civilians in the region.
These events highlight the mounting tensions in Ukraine and the continued military aggression by Russia.
