Can Easter be celebrated online: the response of the metropolitan of the PЦУ.
The Metropolitan of Pereyaslav and Vynnytsia, Oleksandr Drabynko, noted in his interview that it is important to maintain unity with the church community during the Easter service if believers cannot be physically present. He recommends to believers that if they cannot visit the church, they should watch the service online and pray together with the community.
The metropolitan also emphasized that not all believers have the opportunity to participate in the services, as some are on the front lines, others in occupied territories, and still others have been forced to leave their homes. He pointed out that the joy of the Resurrection should be in the heart of every person, regardless of their location.
In his interview, the metropolitan highlighted the importance of the Easter service and communal prayer, especially during Holy Week. He also reported on the change of curfew in the Khmelnytskyi and Kirovohrad regions during the Easter night.
It is also worth noting that the cost of the Easter basket in Ukraine has increased by 64.5% since the beginning of the war. In 2022, the price of the set of products was 1135 UAH, and this year it reached 1867 UAH.
