The USA does not plan to seize Greenland

According to ТСН: The United States has no intentions of forcibly seizing Greenland or taking territory from other countries. The main priority for the USA is to establish a dialogue directly with the island's residents.

This was stated by the US special envoy to Greenland and the governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry.

Landry's statements somewhat soften the positions of Donald Trump, who previously expressed intentions to control the island over national security issues. The special envoy noted that Washington does not plan aggressive actions and has no intention of 'trying to conquer someone' or 'taking someone's country.'

'I think our discussions should be with the people in Greenland (...) — what they aspire to, what opportunities they have not been given, why they have not received the protection they deserve,' emphasized Jeff Landry.

Earlier, Trump also noted that Denmark, in his opinion, does not provide a sufficient level of defense for Greenland, and the island itself has too small a population for self-defense.

Moreover, it was reported that US President Donald Trump once again emphasized the critical importance of Greenland for the national security of the USA and announced the appointment of a special envoy to deal with issues concerning this Arctic island.

Such statements underline a change in the US approach to Greenland, as they seek to focus on cooperation with the local population instead of aggressive actions. This may indicate Washington's attempts to establish better relations with Denmark and take into account the interests of the residents of Greenland in its policies.
