Zelensky on Syrsky: there are currently no plans to replace the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
According to ТСН: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on rumors about the possible dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky. According to the head of state, personnel changes are being considered as part of a general 'reset' of the system, but currently, the Commander-in-Chief remains in office.
This statement was made by the president during a conversation with journalists.
Gradual reset of the system
Zelensky noted that the process of updating the power vertical is ongoing and covers a wide range of ministries — from the Cabinet of Ministers to law enforcement agencies and the security sector.
'As for the reset: all processes — the Cabinet of Ministers, the law enforcement system, the security system, the Ministry of Defense. And the Armed Forces of Ukraine come from the Ministry of Defense. We are talking about steps one by one,' the president explained.
The fate of Oleksandr Syrsky
Despite systemic changes in the defense agency, Volodymyr Zelensky made it clear that radical measures regarding personnel changes in the leadership of the Armed Forces are not planned at this time.
'We are not saying that today we are ready to replace the Commander-in-Chief. Today, replacing the Commander-in-Chief is not expected,' the head of state emphasized.
It should be noted that the Armed Forces are preparing a new contracting system: Syrsky explained the key changes.
The current changes in military command and other state bodies are part of a broader renewal strategy, which, according to the president, will help strengthen the country's defense capabilities. In this context, it is important to monitor further steps and new initiatives that may appear in the near future.
