Fuel Prices Surge in Ukraine: What Changed at Gas Stations on April 2.
Fuel Price Situation in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: As of April 2, 2026, major gas station chains across Ukraine have raised their fuel prices. Specifically, A-95 and A-95+ gasoline increased by roughly 1 hryvnia per liter. Similarly, A-100 gasoline also rose by 1 hryvnia, while A-92 became about 40 kopecks more expensive. Diesel fuel, including premium grades, went up by 1-2 hryvnias per liter, with some chains seeing increases of up to 3 hryvnias. Autogas prices climbed by approximately 1 hryvnia.
Most Expensive and Cheapest Gas Station Chains
Among the chains offering the priciest diesel fuel are Okko, WOG, and Socar. In contrast, the most affordable fuel comes from companies like Ukrnafta and BRSM-Nafta. Amid rising costs, the Cabinet of Ministers has launched a 'fuel cashback' program, enabling drivers to recover a portion of their expenses. The cashback rates are as follows:
- 15% of diesel costs
- 10% of gasoline costs
- 5% of autogas costs
With fuel prices climbing, knowing how to save on gasoline is essential for reducing expenses. Consumers are advised to closely monitor prices across different gas station networks and take advantage of the cashback opportunity, which can significantly lower fuel costs.
In recent years, Ukraine's fuel market has been marked by volatility, driven by factors such as global oil price shifts and currency exchange fluctuations. The government's cashback initiative aims to ease the financial burden on consumers, but its effectiveness depends on how the fuel market evolves going forward. It is also important for drivers to be cautious when choosing a gas station, as fuel prices can vary widely between different chains.
